It’s been a long, long time since my last post! Many posts have been started, but none actually posted, because I was busy planning our wedding! Let me tell you, planning a wedding in nine short months is a lot of work but the day of was totally, completely worth all of the work (and the few moments of aggravation, lol). We were lucky to have our friends and family with us on our big day, and I will never forget the feeling of love and support that surrounded us that day. Our very talented photographer, Inbal Sivan, captured so many beautiful, fleeting moments. (And we were very fortunate that our good friend Rose Callahan was kind enough to capture some lovely moments for us as well.)
We were married at Bacchus Bistro on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, almost kitty corner from my old apartment, and the corner were Matthew and I had our first kiss. The backyard where we had our ceremony was so beautiful, with a tree blooming and full of lights, and an archway of flowers as a backdrop for our vows. Matthew wore vintage white tie and tails, and his Great-Grandfather’s top hat, and we asked all of our vintage-loving male guests to please wear their white tie and tails as well which led to some beautiful group shots and some very impressed passer-by when they were all out on the sidewalk in front of Bacchus.
To most people’s surprise, I opted for a modern dress that had a 1930’s movie star feel to it from designer Rosa Clara. I loved it and felt so glamorous (and comfortable!) in it all day!
It’s hard to pick out which pictures to post because there are so many amazing ones to chose from, but I hope you’ll enjoy this small selection. I’m so very grateful for the beautiful day that we had and for finding my prefect match in Matthew. He is my vintage love and I am a lucky girl indeed!
Stay turned for a post about our time in Paris and some of the vintage stores I went to while I was there!
